Takeki Furukubo is the Chief Operating Officer of Happy Hour Consulting, a Philippines-based consultancy serving the integrated resorts industry in Asia.
Prior to that, he worked in one of the top department store companies in Japan for 30 years, with the role entailing new store & new business development including branding, marketing, leasing, establishing operation and training of employees in domestic and overseas markets.
He was most recently vice president of retail and leasing at Okada Manila, having served in the position for three years. There he developed a tenant allocation plan and strategy unique to the IR, and had sourced tenants to fill almost 20,000sqm of retail space. In addition to planning and executing IR marketing strategies in collaboration with hotels and FBs, he established a training/educational package and assessment system, which will lead to a remarkable improvement in the service & manners of IR as a whole. He also led a project which brought unique events from Japan to the property.
