Heather Scheibenstock is a professional company director with a focus on growth strategies in rapidly changing, customer-focused businesses. She has extensive experience in business management, strategy, finance, risk and governance across a range of industries, including gaming, hospitality, disability and health-related non-profit organisations, both locally and internationally.
Her skills in corporate governance, risk management, strategy and business planning; including capital expansion projects, product technology, business restructuring, mergers and acquisition and organisational culture, have been developed from her vast and varied experience in executive leadership roles and a board portfolio encompassing ASX-listed public companies, over 20 years.
Highly successful at driving change for business improvement, Heather sees the broader picture from a perspective that gets to the core of strategic and operational challenges. She has a proven record of identifying, assessing and delivering strategies in development and technology to maximise return on investment, innovative solutions and increase productivity.
Heather currently serves as an executive director and CSO, leisure and gaming, and chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for SenSen Networks Ltd., a leading provider of AI solutions. Heather also works closely with Spectrum Gaming Group – Asia division and has a deep knowledge of economics, regulation, and gaming policy worldwide, driving product development and innovation.
She further serves as a non-executive director for Ability Options, which supports people with disabilities. She is a member of the Finance Committee and chairs the Service and Quality Committee. As Deputy Chair- Ability Options, Heather is committed to ensuring that Ability Options upholds and respects human rights and transfers that to the way services are delivered.
Heather formerly served on the board of Ainsworth Game Technology, where she was a non-executive director and member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committee and the Regulatory and Compliance Committee. In these roles, she oversaw the company’s strategies, policies and performance; reviewed and monitored the company’s risk, control and accountability systems; and monitored compliance with regulatory, constitutional and ethical standards.
Heather previously served as Director of Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust, Senior Vice President of Table Games at Solaire Resorts in the Philippines; General Manager of Gaming at Echo Entertainment Group/The Star in Sydney, Australia; and General Manager of Gaming Machines at Jupiters Hotel & Casino in Queensland, Australia;
Heather is a graduate of the University of Technology Sydney, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Corporate Governance. She has received diplomas from the University of Nevada-Reno, Australian Institute of Company Directors, Asset Training Australia, and Governance Institute of Australia. She is a member of the Women in Gaming and Hospitality Australasia.
